Hey folks, i've noticed 1 or 2 got some "pleasure" to put on my 4 most recent posts a "hate it".
My fault, apologize me! Now it's fixed, i've replace the "hate it" by "Not my taste", this will cut the envy to few idiots who enjoy this kind of action ;).
By the way, i'm starting a new poll: this time i'm asking all of you on which kind of render engine you prefer (result might impacted my next works). To give you a better idea here's a render featuring Elfy in both engines, same scene, same pose, same HDRI used.
Vote & don't cheat!
OCTANE
POSER
I have to say, I do have a soft spot for that catchy eye candy that Octane offers. Always tends to up the realism a bit and give more vibrant colours compared to MR.
ReplyDeleteI voted for both though. You seem to know when to use one or the other.
Oh balls can't edit my post. I meant Poser, not MR.
DeleteI too like the more vibrant colors that the Poser render presents, but I could just be mistaking that from the way the lighting is positioned relative to its absence in the Octane render. I agree with Origin that your discretion on the use of either render engine thus far has been superb.
ReplyDeleteI would have to vote for both. You are the Artist and know what emotions you wish to convey. I find your work stellar no matter which render engine you use. They are just the tools but it is your Talent that translates them into Fine Art.
ReplyDeleteI am only 3-4 weeks into learning how to render, and i have only just done my first render using octane. Just to experiment i did the exact same scene in Poser before trying it in octane, and after fiddling a little with the settings in octane to get the lighting to work, the level of detail in the octane render outstrips the poser render by a huge amount, even to my inexperienced eyes.
ReplyDeleteI'm agree but there is some things that Octane are not so good currently: SSS, i prefer poser's SSS than Octane's SSS. When SSS in Octane will be "perfect" i will definitely conquer by Octane :).
DeleteI voted Octane because,I believe if the scene was lightened some in Octane it would look better imo.
ReplyDeleteI see two different lighting! Octane's results is very good but picture looks very dark the lighting at the Poser's render is looks natural! You can always see this kind of lights and shadows at the street corner! If both render can gives us to exactly same lighting, maybe that time I can say which result is better? But of course I'm not use octane yet and also I really don't know if the Octane's SSS feature's are not sufficient yet? Some people say Luxrender" is good but Luxrender's render times are incredibly long! This could be a problem! But if Octane's render times are short, this is a great advantage for this soft! Also Octane's results are looks already good !BTW Thank you for the Tutorals:-)
